When Joe Otto accepted the job to lead a wagon train to California, the last thing he expected was to be asked to marry Mr. Heller’s daughter. Still pining over the one that got away, he’s not sure he has it in him to open his heart to another woman. Mr. Heller assures him the arrangement will only be temporary. I always enjoy reading Ruth Ann Nordin's books and Groom for Hire is no exception. Joe and Michelle are paired up in an marriage of convenience to ensure that Michelle arrives safely in California under the protection of her groom Joe, however the attraction between them is tangible, despite Joe's best efforts to the contrary. Once let off the leash of proprietary of city life, Michelle finds that she can indulge her love of adventure and she lets Joe know in no uncertain terms that she can do anything she sets her mind to. Her unconventional behaviour draws criticism from members of the wagon train, and Joe begins to realise that he has a gem in Michelle. This is a delightful story set in the early days of the settlement of the West, with a feisty heroine and an honourable hero who learns to love again. I found myself laughing out loud at times and finished reading with a smile on my face.Product details

Pretty typical Western romance novel about wagon train to California. . Good light reading. This series good reminder of daily lives of early pioneers struggle to make life work for them.
Loved this book had a wonderful story of Joe and Michelle. There adventure of the wagon train there are times you wanted to laugh at the persistent Michelle wanting to do everything a man does. helping the wagon master and falling in love.
What a great story of love and determination! Michelle knew what she wanted, and she set out to get it. Ruth Ann Nordin weaves her tale to keep your interest in finding out what will happen next. I could not put this book down until I finished it. I loved the banter between Joe and Michelle. You will enjoy this book as much as I did. Happy reading!!
Good story, good characters, but not developed well. Seems to follow a script for writing; write this now , have them do this now, etc. Stilted. Sorry. Kept waiting for it to get exciting and real. It didn't.
